Zine Project
This is a project for my Composition Theory and Rhetoric for High School and Junior College Teachers (ENG 520) class. Below is a description of the assignment from Dr. Margaret Weaver's syllabus:
“A zine…is a publication containing a variety of pieces of writing designed to interest and enlighten a particular audience…written for purely personal reasons by nonprofessional writers eager to share their knowledge” (Cohen, “Zine Project,” Language Arts 82.2, Nov. 2004, 129).
Your zine is to be a polished collection of your written work that demonstrates research and reflection on writing and teaching. (Some of this work/artifacts might be ideal to include in your e-portfolio.) Throughout the semester, we will have at least three opportunities to meet one-on-one together to discuss how your zine is progressing. Feedback is essential to the writing process and to our development as writers. I look forward to these conferences and encourage you to make additional ones if you so desire. I am always delighted to give feedback on drafts and to brainstorm about the countless possibilities that you have open to you. I especially welcome the opportunity to learn from each of you through your written words. REVISED simply means that you have received written feedback from me on at least one draft.
This project will be complete by October 31st. Each of the components of the assignment are contained in subpages within this page.
